American serama thread!

I had a hen go broody today, so I transferred 10 eggs from the incubator for her to sit on. I have her all the eggs from herself, so she will have all her biological children

Good luck!!! In my opinion broody hens are more reliable. Seven serama chicks from seven eggs hatched for me yesterday.

I agree! My last hatch was with a broody hen and 8 out of the original 9 hatched.

I've got 2 broodies on eggs & am trying to entice a 3rd to set.
I used to let my birds hatch their own eggs.
This meant their oldest eggs had been sitting in heat & cold for up to 3 weeks.
When they laid 10 eggs, they often couldn't cover them at all times.
Now I store eggs in climate control & only give them 5 or 6 eggs,
so I'm hoping for great results.

Gyda has stolen Deanna's 2 chicks from her & driven her off.
They shared the nest but that party is over.
I moved Deanna in with The Klingon.

I found this picture not mine but i was just wondering, can anyone tell me what color she is? she kind-of looks like a wheaton color but i dont think she is...

So does anyone know what color she is?

Being in a hurry, I posted incorrectly. While seven eggs did produce seven chicks, I had removed two eggs earlier that had died in the second week of incubation. I am still pleased with seven out of nine. For a first time mom, she did good.

I don't know what the bird world calls her
but Benjamin Moore calls her Maple Sugar & Roasted Sesame Seed

I have a random question, are white seramas with blue eyes a thing? I have a pretty weak little pullet in a brooder in the house who is pure white with what are looking like blue eyes. I haven't seen any similar pics online. I asked in a new thread in this forum and didn't get a single response.
