Why do you think it's bad to give them food overnight? I don't, but that's mostly to reduce mess in their coop. Mine get a morning and an evening feeding, with afternoon snacks sometimes (like BOSS, fruit/veg scraps, scratch). The evening feeding is a couple of hours before they go into the coop for the night.

Yeah for the mess. What I do is give them food at night, what they dont eat the chickens finish off, and they get scraps and treats and sometimes steal the chickens food all afternoon then repeat. The ducks and chicks are gonna be separated into different pens around november and I will structure their feeding then

I should add I free range them in electroplastic net and they (chicks and ducks) have lil tractor coops they sleep in at night and they all mix in the day. But there has been bulling by the buff brahmas to my KCs so they're gonna be separated

So...update. The khaki campbells ate it, the chickens ate it, the saxony ducks...didnt touch it
