Looks like our rain has decided to move up your way, we only got 72mm but still quite happy to see it move on. All this cold weather is not making it easy to get a peek at this chick, penny is keeping it very much under wraps which is good but frustrating lol

I was thinking of giving feather sexing a try this afternoon which penny is not going to be happy about at all. Part of it is just curiosity but the other is wanting to get the kids used to the idea from as early as possible that it's going to a new home when it's big enough if it's a boy. Being it's the only one it's going to be a bit harder to say goodbye if we have to as there is nobody else they are getting to keep. It would also be a relief to know I haven't got to start looking for homes if it's a girl.

Has anyone tried that and got it right?

You gotta love the two best buddies.

Good Gravy!  I logged in this morning & there was 5 pages on this thread that you all created while I was sleeping!

Fancy,  WOW!  That moon is gorgeous!

Satay,  Sounds like chicks are well on the way:D

Vehve,  Eggs are beautiful!  I am really looking forward to next spring.  My girls are on strike now due to molt & dreary weather.  Last year we fussed about it and DH ran 4 extension cords to the coop.  We tried leaving the light on all night, all day, it seemed to make no difference in the egg production.  Just the energy company was very happy with the huge bills we were incurring.  So, I gave up and we will wait.  But this past spring I hatched out some olive eggers and French marans.  Also bought some easter eggers.  I CAN'T WAIT!  They are all about 5-6months now.

Jelly,  Welcome to this thread and to BYC!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!:weee

Findtex,  Have you counted them yet?  Beautiful chicks.  What breeds?

You'll get used to us aussies we are have a chats :)
