Nightwhisper hopped out of the tree hollow and stretched her wings. After hearing the talk about the female parrot defending her nest so fiercely, she reconsidered attacking the parrot nest and decided to hunt for some voles. Nightwhisper took off, her hurt wing much better and flew away from all the noise and birds to find quieter hunting grounds.

Aspen flew off to roost and settled down to sleep.

Meanwhile, Summer and Shadow had been bringing twigs and other nesting material to the thorny bush for their nest.

Nickel dove underwater and captured a small fish, gulping it down. He then started to patrol the pond, chasing out other waterfowl and fanning his brilliant crest in annoyance.
