I have Black Australorps, Easter Eggers, Red Sex Link, Light Brahma, Jersey Giant, and Silver Laced Wyandotte. I have to say my favorite out of all of the are the EEs, Red Sex Link, and Light Brahma. My EE's keep up in laying with my Red Sex Link and are more personable then the others I find. My RSL is a gentle chicken and does not mind being pet or held and I love the size of the Brahma. She's a tad more skittish right now and has yet to lay, but their winter hardiness was what sold me on the breed and I absolutely love the way it looks from its black and white patterning to its feathered feed. I would definitely recommend EEs to anyone though. Mine are quite docile, lay good and the variety in egg color is amazing. I get anywhere from blue to light green and even a darker almost leaf green. Absolutely love it.
