@searlus usually by day 7-8 you should see veining as long as there isn't any smell you can leave them longer.


Miss Lydia is correct. By 7-8 days of incubation, one should easily see good veining and the embryo. Yes, as long as the eggs don't smell, you can leave them in for a couple extra days.

Yes, I see growing embryo and veining in the eggs.

thanks for the tip about a wall to separate the ducks, Miss Lydia; i will be improving security all around, including using a trail camera to see what's coming into the yard at night so i can find a way to humanely get rid of it. I'll make the improvements before adding the new ducks.
 
I have one Cayuga duck with my mixed flock and she is so sweet. It took a lot more work to make her friendly then any other breed I have had. So spend a lot of time with them...( like that will be hard!)
