Hi, I am new to this site and live in Harrison Tn. I am looking for RIR eggs or chick to raise. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

I have several hundred rir chicks right now out of 4 breeding pens. These are standard bred birds, not heritage, out of show lines. I will not be selling any until evaluation begins this summer but will quite a few for sale at that time. They will begin laying at about 26 weeks of age. If you are looking for hatchery stock these are likely not what you're looking for but if you're looking for true standard bred birds I can help you out. The cockerel in my avatar is a nanny in that pic, but he's grown into a beautiful cock and is one of my 4 breeders this year. Let me know if i can help. I'm about 1 hr north of Chattanooga

Do you know about Delinda's Homestead Poultry which is located in Delano--close to the market but not connected with it. She has baby chickens, pheasants, turkeys, guineas, and quail for sale. I have not been there this year, but in the past, she has had a lot of different fowl for sale. If you want her phone number email me and I will give it to you.

Morning all,

Thought I would update everyone on how my baby chick/pullet/hen is now doing.

She's grow up, seen an avian specialist in upstate New York and still traveling with me.

She's laid her first egg a couple weeks back and on her 12th so far.

I am hoping to have a coop set up for her at family's home in Kimball/Jasper in the next couple months.

Glad to see you started this, I always thought we needed a southeast tn. thread. I live in Delano Tn. in Polk Co. near the Mennonite/Amish horse and buggy community. I raise quite a bit of poultry, what started out as a hobby 10 yrs. has turned into a full time job! I raise heritage breeds birds, 18 different breeds of chickens, geese, quineas, turkeys, pheasants, doves, mandrian ducks, muscovey ducks, 4 varieties of quail, and peafowl. Hatching season has started here, I always look forward to seeing the first chicks of the year!
