If I didn't know better I would have said I read this post before I planned my "Production Red Sexing Project",lol. A couple of days ago I had posted a question in this very group about "tail feather sexing" my production reds, I have a group I hatch from my flock, and will be doing alot more starting next spring and at the moment I have split up a group of 22 into what I think will be pullets and roos by tail feather growth, this group is about 4 weeks old. Spring plans are to start trying wing feather growth at 1-2 days. Now I have a place to share the results and photos.

Right! After a leave of absence from BYC (taken mostly in the interests of getting other things done, like work) I am going to start contacting people who let me know they have photos to share - hopefully by now most of the early contributors should have very obviously sexed chickens now, as well as photos taken en route that will reveal the journeys taken from chick to hen/roo. I'll also get onto to the Powers That Be (that'll be Rob, aka Nifty Chicken) and see how the far along the pipeline the new server has come. Still very much hoping that we will be able to get this resource up and running as something that everyone can add photos to directly, but for now I think we'll have to take it slowly but surely, adding one chicken at a time!

Best wishes,

Mark
