I designed this as a solution for raising a couple bantams in the city.

interesting idea but they only have about 5 sq ft inside between them.

i'd lay the barrel on its side and rig up something to stop it rolling. you could get 3 or 4 birds in that way with more room per bird.

if the barrel is well attached to whatever you have on the outside to stop the rolling you could probably also not bother with concrete inside so it'd get easier and cheaper.

just a thought.

How cool is this?!?!?!
(...is it just ME or is anybody else getting tired of this euphemism?)

A N Y W A Y --thanks for sharing the great plan. Although I don't have a space problem, I am, as usual, when I'm sitting at a desk because I'm not at home and CAN'T work outside on my Farmette, I am ever plotting and planning. Just started my coop, NOT planning on keeping the Roos, but MIGHT get one Roo in the future. This would be perfect and (I think) pretty cheap. I can figure it out myself, BUT, what did the WHOLE project run?

..there's a pun, there..."run"...
