So I thought I would give an update on my hatch... Out of 22 eggs originally set (15 Rhode Island Red and 7 Silkies), one Rhode Island Red hatched today, 23 days after being set. Meet "Trooper"...

I am busy hatching at the moment. have 7 pekins hatched so far, with two more coming next week.

Hi all I'm hatching aswell already 2 out 4 stil busy can anyone please help I am looking for that plastic egg holders that goes into the incubator? Where can I find some of it? If been lookinf everywhere but can't find any..

I have 8 phoenix chicks, 5 lav pekin chicks lot of black pekin chicks, 40 potch koekoek chicks, 3 blue Orpington chicks and about 40 mix breed layer chicks.... Lots and lots of chickens.

HI all, good to hear you have lots of chooks! I lost my second layer, Rose last week to a bacterial infection in the gut. I am convinced these poor guys have bad genes because they are selected for egg laying, so that they are susceptible to disease. Its terrible. They both had the best care, best food, environment, and were taken to the avian vet as soon as they showed symptoms. Please do me and the chooks of the world a favor, and only breed healthy strong chooks and then lots and lots of them!!!! If they have ever been sick and recovered with treatment, or showed any health issues, or are not as vary of predators, exclude them from the genepool. It just prevents so much unnecessary suffering.
