Chicken euthanasia?

if she is not at death's door, why not slather her comb/wattles and legs with petroleum jelly at night when she roosts? it won't take long to get her tame, especially if you introduce treats to her directly

My husband and sons take care of this unsavory part of raising chickens with a quick shot to the head while I am in the house. You can do what you need to do. Have confidence and what doesn't go well is a learning experience that you will remember the next time. Good luck.

Thank you all! And Spinster_Sister, I have had her for two or three years. She's a bantam, more like the sort of thing you'd expect to find hopping around a wood in India xD. She'll come towards me if I crawl up with food, but she doesn't like being touched, at all.
