Chilling before evisceration

wow.. you guys have it easy!
I collect the birds.. husband kills.. I do everything else... and i pluck by hand or skin since I don't have a plucking machine.

can I say I'm a bit jealous?

I don't even want to say how much it takes me to pluck and process two birds by hand all by myself. Just learning.

We had a processor out today. He killed 10 birds, then he scalded them in a big barrel holding 2 per hand, then held them on a plucking machine one at a time, they were put into a barrel of cold well water as they came off the plucker and then he would grab one at a time and gutted etc and then put in another barrel of cold water. The he started over. Took him about 2 hours to finish 42 by himself and he complained he was slow today because of lack of sleep.
