Christmas 2014 Hatch-a-Long (12-25-14)

Uno is still out in the garage in the brooder separated from the newbies. I want to introduce them all at once to the flock so it may be mid March before they go out.

If it's not too cold we will take Uno out to the run for short supervised visits.

I just moved all 36 out into the large brooder in a not insulated shed. It had been the home of my lone hen, and my injured Roo. And he healed up nicely and went to his new home yesterday. And the hen went to the neighbor who has some older hens and I owed her one. So they are out of the way.

Now I hope they won't freeze

and that the water won't freeze too.

A few pictures of my 6 wk old Christmas hatch-a-longs.

Picture #1 some of the 6 wk olds playing in the dust bath pan. It's a old roasting pan of mine. "Did someone say Chicken Dinner"

. What are they crossed with?
thanks! they are crossed with my frizzle silkie and my Japanese bantam X silkie from my jappie project.
in july I sold my Japanese rooster and my silkie hen to my jappie project after 7 eggs hatched from them. I kept 2 roosters and one hen. I bred my rooster, milkshake to my partridge frizzle hen and I got this!

I lobed the results so much ive decided im going to make this a program.

now, I hope the 25% Japanese the chicks have wouldn't drive away buyers...
