Does anyone know any good places to buy bantams in/near Hartford county? I'm looking to buy 3 so Tractor Supply is out.

Also, they are going to be pets, so it doesn't need to be a breeder, a feed store should work.

Fun day today. Went to the sustainable food show at the Greenwich Audubon society. Met Traci Torres from My Pet Chicken....learned about bee keeping, chickens and organic soil..

My 9 girls are officially ONE!! They have made it through this horrible winter! 8 are perfectly healthy. 1 keeps having an issue with sour crop. I am managing though. She will lay an egg here and there and she is still pooping so I know that she is getting nutrients.
this was her latest egg.

But now I face a while new issue..........My 7 year old son told daddy that mom neededdddddd ducks for her birthday. Soooo, i now possess 6, 1 week old pekin ducks. Does anyone else have experience with them? Does anyone else have mixed broods?
Just what I needed for my 30th birthday, more gray hair!! lol

We accidentally had 6 baby ducks one summer -- messy!

I don't know anything about them, we gave them alot of fresh water and then gave them away when the feathered out.

My girls have been laying every day!
Pretty brown & blue eggs are filling our fridge.
We got a kick out of making blueberry muffins with blue eggs.
The inside of the eggshell is blue too ~~pretty.

I let the girls out over the weekend, it was such nice weather!
They got a good amount of sun.

Good supervised sun after the hawk attack.
They stayed in all of the melted pathways, everything else is huge areas of ice.
Was surprised to wake up to beautiful snow falling this morning!
