CS15 -- The Official Michigan Chicken Stock Information Thread for June 20, 2015

I'm always willing to adopt unwanted plants. No lilacs though.

It will be Friday before I know what will take place in the near future. I saw another specialist today and he wants to delay the heart surgery BUT only if the heart surgeon agrees. So 2 more days of pins and needles as the medical profession decides my fate. We better have booze at CS.

Batty...sorry about your loss! Sorry about the dog, too...sure hope you can still come.

RaZ...waiting is horrible, my hope is that you get good news.

I'm looking for those small purple iris if anyone has any, the Siberian. I have some grasses I could bring if anyone wants some.

DH willing to help grill hot dogs if needed...we plan on getting there about 10:30.
Uchytil..would live our usual spot next to you if you get there first. :)
We are bringing a blue canopy if anyone needs some shade we are happy to share.

Jackieandchicks! Woohoo...glad to hear you are coming!

Well, it looks better and better I can come for a bit. I can bring G's eggs! And eat Mary's cake!

I do work 40 hours a week, and then come home to another 5 hours a day of farm maintenance (husband has his own stuff to do) but I have managed to get my gardens in (but they need weeding!) and most of my hay is in, and I am sure my hay farmer is not cutting this week so I won't be getting the last this weekend.

So, I won't have time to make any foods...and I probably won't be eating much, but is there anything that might be needed?

Oh and I will want to buy maple syrup! Hubby just got addicted...found out it's much better than that corn syrup crap they sell in the store.

Hey, how about kleenex for us allergy people and unexpected dust and what not?

I'm glad you've decided to come!

I have the big black Irises, they just finished blooming, I can bring those if you want. Also, from all the plant swaps I've gone to, the best way to bring plants is bare rooted. Don't want other peoples' chemicals soil diseases, bugs, weeds, morning glory. Sound agreeable to every one? Just wrap root ball in wet paper towel, small things in wet zip locks, you get the idea.

Thank you, I hatched and raised her (and brother) myself, under my shirt when her mother abandoned her and her brother after 1st chick born was killed by another bird,
Since I am doing the photo stuff, it would be easier if I was in the midst of every one. Can that be arranged?

hI Raz, What is up with your heart? I know you have been sick, just didn't know with what. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse. I'm going to need surgery one day if, it doesn't kill me first. I'm waiting as long as I can but sometimes it really gives me a bad time.

ETA: speaking of booze, I usually make my own wine, just not lately. Red wine is all I like for wine. If someone hasn't tried Wicked, apple cider ale, it's good stuff for hot afternoon drinking, only 10% alcohol. I may bring some of that. :)

I dug up the iris and daffodils and put them in a sack and that's the way I'm bringing them. No chemicals in my yard, fertilized by chickens. Want them, take them. If not, that's ok if you are not comfortable with my germy dirt.
Still have not decided on what to bring. No time! House hunting today, lunch with a few bycers tomorrow and then the picnic!! AHHHHH
