Does Bird Netting Work With Snow?

We just had a dumping of heavy wet snow - 8 inches.....my 27 X 12 foot run is covered with 2 inch bird netting....almost NOTHING stuck to the net...no issue whatsoever.

After I smeared petroleum jelly all up and down the legs of the chickens, I got inspired and put it on the net as well. That must be the trick!!!!

I keep mine up during the winter but watch it very close when it snows and shake off the snow right away so it doesn’t collapse. Really wet heavy snow will accumulate on the netting.

I used garden netting or deer netting for 20+ years. Just changed it this year. Fluffy snow falls through, but wet snow piles up. I have had numerous times that the net broke down, but usually it breaks at the zip tie & I could use another square & put it back up until finally I had to replace it. Can't eat the price. The above is a bit tougher than bird netting.
