Well, I finally broke down yesterday and ate 6 of my first 8 eggs I've gotten so far (I was waiting to make a meal). They are all from the same hen, and she's just now starting to regularly.

Of the six eggs I cracked open, 4 of them had two yolks! I was just wondering if this is normal because she's just starting to lay, or if the is something "wrong" with her.

Should I expect this many doubles to continue, or is it just a phase?

Double yokers are more common when the birds are relatively new layers. As mine got older the doubles got to be fewer.

haha you won't be hungry for a while lol

Thanks cmom... I thought it would work the other way around as they eggs would be larger thus able to fit the second yolk. Instead the early ones seam to be almost all yolk.
