Duck house

Hi everyone. We are getting ready to build our wooden a frame for our ducklings who will be arriving soon. I was wondering, has anyone had success using a large metal shed as a duck shelter? We're curious if this would work if we cut big windows on top for ventilation, and covered with hardware cloth.

We are in New Hampshire, so we cold winters and a couple hot months in the summer. We're debating the two projects and I thank everyone in advance for their input.

Will it be sitting out in the hot sun? if so metal may not be too good it would be hot. But if you can sit it in the shade it would probably be fine. Good ventilation is very important.
