Duck Names

Today I have started incubating 6 duck eggs again Most likely, all 6 won't hatch but hopefully a few of them will be successful this time!

So, I'd like to know what I could name my duckies and would love to know what everyone else has called their ducks! <3

Me and my partner currently like the names Sugar and Puddle/Puddles!
These ducks are Cherry Valley ducks (Pekin) which will start yellow then turn white.

The one duckie I had was called Sweetpea. I always like the name Pea or Pea Soup. Or Peanut.

I’m partial to Pickles because he was my first duck. I’ve named my newest three Dill, Georgie and Tulip (still thinking on that one). Poppy, Petunia, Charlie/Charleigh, Maple, Sunny, Otis, Lucy are some names I have jotted down!

My duckies are called pip, puddles,petunia,Sandy,Jeff,Jeff jr (one of Jeff and sandys duckling ), Carl,clive ,Mike, Mitchel and ocean! I know they are kinda weird but I love human names as they are so funny

I pick a theme and go from there!

Most of my Chocolate Muscovy are named after coffee: Mocha, Java, Laté, and Cappuccino. I have one clutch that was named after deserts: Pudding (Puddin' Boy), Cookie, Dulce, and Strudel. My Welsh Harlequins are/were named after seasonings: Nutmeg, Cilantro, Parsley, and Mace.

I find it easier to remember who belongs where this way.

Mine have a theme: food/drinks

• Clementine
• Figgy
• Marmalade
• Peanut
• Julep
• Apple
• Cheddar

And then I adopted one who already had a name: Hookbill Jill.

I like picking a theme. Some folks choose a different theme for each "generation" of birds. I think that's clever. I might do that when I start breeding geese.
