Eating eggs after using Wazine 17?

I have been reading everything I can find from all over the Internet. I have found a million different opinions. I read no waiting period at all, 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 28 days, never eat their eggs again, don't hatch any and no problem with hatching them. The only thing I NEVER found anywhere is what happens if you DO eat the eggs. I also found that no official scientific study hs ever been done on it. So, I will do my own study and continue to eat them. If you guys are interested, I will post the results, provided I am still alive to do so!

The active ingredient in Warize is Piperazine which is used in humans to treat round worm although the human drug is going to be manufactured in better facilities and cost a lot more. Here is a list of side effects:

Studies on the amount that get into the eggs have been done in Europe:
http://www.ema.europa.eu/docs/en_GB...sidue_Limits_-_Report/2009/11/WC500015676.pdf

So it seems that you would get some Piperazine if you eat the eggs but it is within the European standards (20% of their allowable daily intake). After a week the amount in the eggs would be minimal and after two weeks only a trace would be left.

For anyone doing tests on themselves ingesting substances you need to be concerned about your liver as it is what filters out the toxins and can be destroyed by some compounds.

I have NOT stopped eating the eggs after using Wazine.

HOWEVER (coma) some other wormers may be a different consideration. i.e. Benzamidazole
It's your choice whether to eat eggs after worming or not, no matter what type of wormer it is. The same can be said about antibiotics whether there's a withdrawal period or not. One thing we know is that there IS residue in the eggs, no matter how slight. The problem is we dont know if an individual might be sensitive or allergic to the product which can possibly have dire consequences at the worst. Another thing we know for sure is eggs should NOT be fed back to chickens due to wormer/antibiotic residue in the eggs. Why? Because worms and bacteria build resistance to the product (wormer/antibiotic respectively.) When this happens the product requires increased dosage or a different kind of product is needed to treat/cure the problem. Everyone has heard of antibiotic resistance due to its overuse when not needed, rendering alot of antibiotics useless. The same is true for wormers; that's why ivermectin/eprinex is useless as wormers in chickens.
I only mention this simply because alot of folks figure if it's okay for them to eat the eggs, it's okay for chickens as well.
Personally, I observe withdrawal periods.

Thank you..you all have helped so much..do I use your instructions on the link above for either of these or just the valbazen. I'm thinking the goat stuff might be easier to get...I dunno. I'm gonna search eBay and the co op. I will look for a syringe in ml. Thank you...
Dose for both is in the post quoted below. You would give either one orally as described.
The Safeguard Goat dewormer, you likely can find at stores like TSC.
For Roundworms Only, Safeguard (Fenbendazole) dose is 0.25 ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeat in 10 days.

OR

Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight give orally once, then repeat in 10 days.
For an average size hen (large fowl) most folks just round up and give .50ml

@dawg53 has a pretty detailed account of how to administer Valbazen in this link. The technique can be used for administering most oral medications.

I know people that eat them after worming, Not recommending either way, but just an FYI.

Here is a list of Meds used to treat Human parasite infections, most that are used for chickens are also used.

Do the followup worming 10 days later.

I would also look into treating with something other than Wazine, it will only address the roundworm and will not kill the others.

Valbezan, Safeguard, Zimectrin Gold Are all good ones.
