I have read extensively about egg storage and washing bloom, salmonella, etc. I know there are varied opinions, and all for good reasons, but many of them involve chickens, which, it seems lay eggs not covered in duck coop poo. Our coop is kept up and tidy, but...duck poo. And my quackers bury them

. What is the consensus (haha) around duck eggs? I am just such a germophobe keeping them all dirty in the tray in my clean kitchen nags at me.

I have only washed one egg and that was when it ended up in the mud. Poop I will try to run off with a rag and call it good. Those are the ones I don't sell and keep for myself. I leave all of mine out on the kitchen counter in a little basket. My ducks lay in their "nesting" area and tend not to poop over there much so as long as I keep it really clan they aren't too bad. They only use that area for laying and don't sleep in it.
