Feed grade DE vs Food grade

Hi. I went to a local feed store to buy a bag of food grate diatomaceous earth to use in a dust bath mixture, to dust my coop for parasite prevention and to occasionally use in chicken feed also for parasite prevention. The store only carried feed grade DE. I bought it thinking it will be ok in a dust bath and to use for parasite prevention in the coop (it is the same as food grade with respect to very low crystalline silica). Although it is apparently safe to feed to livestock, it is not considered ‘food’ grade (which apparently has the lowest metal levels) so my question is is this feed grade ok to put in their feed? Does anyone know about these two grades?

I would use food grade.
Also DE doesn't actually work on parasites so no sense in giving it to them.
I think you are misinformed or under informed about the effect of using DE to control parasites. There are many accounts of peoples first hand experiences and success in their trials of using DE.
