My Rhode Island Reds are 23 weeks old now, and I was beginning to wonder when I would finally start seeing some eggs. I go out this morning to replenish their food and water and, low and behold, I see our first egg! I knew it would be any time now since I had one who was squatting when I would pet her. As I was taking a picture of it and texting it to my wife, another went in the coop nesting box and laid another! I know this is no big deal for veteran chicken owners, but as a first timer I am pretty darn excited! Just had to share.
