First Run of Cornish Cross Meat Birds and Super Excited!

@lpatelski, is there a ratio of Dark Cornish to Cx to make a colored chicken?
Glad you asked...The 50% Dark Cornish/50%CX produced white cockerels showing red over the wings. Cockerel Chicks were solid yellow at hatch. Females were white with black splash. So I could tell 100% of the time, that any chick with a black spot was a pullet. Breed those pullets back to a pure Dark Cornish male and you get:

Well I decided against keeping any CX pullets. Decided I just don't have the room. I sure am going to miss these birds... These pullets are batty but most of the cockerels walk up to me and let me pet them... They sure make camp day hard...

Jessica!! How have you been?? How is the egg farming going???

Egg farming is awesome! I now sell chicken and duck eggs at stores all over Oregon and into Vancouver, WA. Demand is insane and trying to keep enough birds laying enough eggs is simply mind boggling. One day we are hoping to start making some money at this. It is a terribly expensive business!
