I consequently sent the marans to freezer camp. I did keep the two UGLY chickens though. Makes my other chickens feel less self conscious about their feathers

I've gotten an idea into my head that I can't shake loose.
Has anyone tried making sausage with chicken? When I was working in Oklahoma a local butcher shop had a chicken Italian sausage. It was WONDERFUL. I'm going to try my hand at it with the next bus load of campers. Almost have everything I need for the smoke house.

It looks really tall and skinny. What do you believe will happen when you breed that beast to the saipan?? You are heading towards ostrich by the current appearance.

I've had Chicken & Bacon sausages which were real good. Mmmmm.
I guess they pair it with bacon to add more fat for cooking.

When you add bacon to anything it becomes edible. Bacon is the worlds best secret ingredient.
