Harambo CX/CX at 23 days 599g - 31.2g per day gain on 40g/day limit feed. .

Betty Boop CX/CX at 23 days 603g - 32.1g per day gain on 40g/day limit feed.

Dino CX/DC-CX at 23 days 534g - 26.5g per day gain on 40g/day limit feed.

Lazur CX/DC-CX at 23 days 431g - 18.9g per day on 40g/day limit feed.
Will be taken off limit feed to catch up.

Took these last week when the sun was out.
Faces are starting to reden at 17 weeks, there mothers started laying at 18 weeks last year, so fingers crossed for some eggs soon.

Chicks are coming along fast. They barely fit in the candy container.
Limit feeding
30 day weight: Harambo-CX/CX 862g(37.6g/day gain)
30 day weight: Betty Boop-CX/CX 853g(35.7g/day gain)

according to the chart...these chicks should be at day 49. Looks like they are not following the chart...or they are stealing more feed.

I butchered my first CX of the year today. He hurt his leg jumping off a bale of hay so I figured I might as well butcher him.. He dressed out at 5.4 pounds and there isn't an ounce of fat on the thing... He was 12-13 weeks old... I am happy with how slow these guys grew. There wasn't any feed in his crop or gizzard. Only grass and some other stuff.

I really withheld the feed... This one was the biggest too... I am giving the rest at least two more weeks as long as their legs last... After state I will butcher I think...

You did well! I think you will enjoy the taste and texture both. A 6-8 week old bird, to me, just does not taste "chickeny" enough for me, add a few weeks it has a better texture and taste..IMHO.
