Hey everyone! Quite the newbie here, but wanted to share our coop and run now that it has been a few months! It has worked out really well!!
We like to call it "Ft Knox" as it is that secure. We have tons of hawks, raccoons, etc in this area- and it has worked to keep them secure. Tons of room when they take flight or run.
For the run, the main area is made of bent cattle panels. It has a gate/door on one side where we go in, but the back has huge gates that open up completely if the coop needs to be moved out. The bottom half is covered in metal 1/2 inch metal mesh and the top is the plastic chicken fencing from tractor supply. It is TOUGH stuff! Perfect for this application.
We made the coop on a used trailer. We wanted it pretty mobile, in case of a hurricane. This way, the coop can be moved into the pole barn if a storm was headed this way.
Instead of typing out step by step, I thought I would show everyone progress pictures and people can. Ask specific questions if they have any
Note: we built both right in the middle of a move across country. We got to our new house and barely had anything unpacked as we started this journey. So please excuse all of the mess in the pole barn during the build.
