Four colors of Starlight Green Eggers

I have some of the Starlights with the hairdo and can attest that they are not the friendliest. As soon as you pick them up, they get vocal and peck us. They also try pecking us when we go in our walk-in run. We've handled them daily since we got them two months ago from TS.

I’m also wondering if one could be a roo. It seems more aggressive.

I'm a new chicken owner so I don't know for sure how to tell. We got 16 total chickens of mixed breeds and these two in particular are definitely jerks.😆

This is Patricia:

And this one is Crunchy (the most aggressive chicken we have-a roo maybe???):

Have you got a closeup picture of Crunchy's comb in natural light? I would need to see the comb straight on and sideways to tell if it's roosterish for sure. Not that I personally am very good with this, but a few more pics would help. Patricia looks like a pullet to me.

They are so pretty!!!

Thank you. I’ll take one when I get home and share.

Here’s some closeups of Crunchy:

6 to 7 weeks old. Two of them have a fun hairdo that seems to be sticking around. Those two aren't the nicest. They are all very skittish compared to our Barred Rocks, Sapphire Gems and RIRs.
Awwe! I had two but the rest of my baby flock smooshed one the second night. My SGE is definitely one of the sweetest of the crew and she's also seeming to start getting the cute hairdo. It's just starting to come in. I hope it's this cute! 😻

Hi All, I want to start a thread for our Starlight Green Eggers to post pictures of their growth. I have found a few threads with pictures similar to ours and what they look like grown but didn't see all the colors we have. Wanted to put pictures of these "hopefully girls" as they grow in case anyone is looking for pictures like I was. There's not too many pictures of them out there growing up and grown, and I can't find hardly any rooster pictures.

The two darker ones are friendly and the two lighter ones are not. I have a suspicion that the medium colored one is a roo...time will tell. I hope not but if so at least it's one of the friendly ones.

I had never heard of these until we saw them at Tractor Supply but decided to get them so we could have some colored eggs in the mix.
Here's my only SGE! She's so nice 😻 Her name is Sweet Pea. She is about 5 weeks old. I can't wait to see her beautiful eggs. I Love her!!

Three colors of SGE at 2-3 weeks. Two pictures per chick.
So here's the chicks now at ~8 weeks. Two pictures per chicken. The light/white one turned into the red/white one (last two pics) and the dark ones turned into the salmon/black and red/black partridge chickens. All pullets I think...

I purchased 6 "assorted colored layers" around Easter. I'm pretty certain Quarter White is a Starlight Green Egger. This bird has changed coloring a lot, and has had me questioning gender the whole way.

I don't have any chick fuzz pics, unfortunately. (S)he started as a yellow chipmunk pattern. His/her first real feathers were mostly white, with a random dark wing feather at 4 weeks:

More dark feathers coming in. Comb and wattle developed and darkened early but have not gotten much bigger.

It's been fun watching the feathering changes. (S)he is very high strung and skittish, but very curious. Often gets close but still isn't sure about touching. I expect Quarter White will lay on the early side if actually female.

I believe this pullet may also be a SGE, Cajun Filet. She's fairly calm and has decided getting pets is awesome. She has a stockier build, so not sure of breed.

Thought you may want to see a couple more colors. I'll add some more pics once they start laying.

What gorgeous chickens! Very pretty and cute!!!

I think you're probably right on what they are, though the dark feathers on the front of Quarter White surprise me a little. She looks female to me.

Cajun Filet could be a SGE, or could be an olive egger. I have an olive egger that looks almost identical on coloring and very similar to her, but then so do my SGEs.
