Great question! Chicken feed can be stored for up to one year before it expires.

A coo,l dry, rat free place I am sure would be the best way to store feed.

This is the one my friend gave me a few years ago. The red has faded but it does get a lot of afternoon sun.

Side note... Sadly the store near me is not participating. The search continues.

I keep my feed in a large plastic tote in the garage; it's covered and away from the weather. But I have a smaller tote out by the coop and inside that tote is a plastic container with lid (used to be for kitty litter) and I keep a smaller quantity near the chicken coop just so it's easier for me to feed them. I refill the old kitty litter container from the large tote in the garage when needed. I only have 3 chickens so it works out well.

I just found out about the free chicken signs from Purina and I know it's late in the game but is it still possible to get a sign? And is there a way to sign up for a notification when this happens again? It sounds like a yearly thing that Purina does.
