Fun "Social-Distancing" Things To Do With Chickens During Covid 19

I like to take my chickens out digging for bugs and worms. I have also managed to teach one of my old hens some tricks like come, go away, sit, and stay.

Clean the coop, it ALWAYS needs to be cleaned. It's amazing how much waste a flock of 11 can produce!

Train your chickens tricks. Yes, like a dog. Mine know "shake", and we're working on "Hoop" and "Over" (jump over the arm). (Also, any more trick ideas will be appreciated!)

Let's consider now if you have bantam sized chickens or regular or larger. My chickens - various sizes - 2 small and 2 large should make approximately 6 feet. Of course, one also needs to consider the chicken's own personal space.

When I was a kid I wanted to fly fish. Dad wouldn't teach me cause I was 6 or 7 however I got him from school before him and had chores to do on our farm. Out came his flyrod and I practiced. Learned to cast and then wondered if I could fool a fish to think the fly was a bug. Chickens like bugs.

Some notes if you try. snip the hook off or use a piece of celery tied to the line.
