This summer we added some splash Cochins, lavender Cochins, cream legbar and Easter eggers to our flock. Recently we have been getting some eggs that are almost gray in color. Any ideas on who is laying them? They’re the front row middle two in the picture.

Legbar or Easter egger (the breeds that lay blue eggs), the colour may be due to more bloom than usual being applied. This is the final protective coat of the egg, that sometimes makes brown eggs look pinkish.

Sometimes the bloom on a blue or green egg can appear gray. I would guess an EE unless your legbàr is not pure. Bloom can be heavier sometimes than others, so eggs could appear different in different seasons.

Awesome, thanks yall! The four leg bars we got were listed as Easter eggers but they’ve looked very cream legbary.
