Hatchery with the "Best" Saipan Jungle Fowl?? PLEASE READ!!

Anyone else having issues with this year's Saipan hatches that have come from Ideal? Last year, I think we only lost one chick from hatching through adult hood. This year's batch that were shipped in December and March have been very frail (weird lazy eyes and some just died from early hatching age to juvenile stage, with no signs of illness and just drop dead). Normally Saipans are very hardy, at least in our experience. So this has been particularly puzzling. We keep MANY breeds and losses this year from any issue, have been disproportionately, Saipans. :(

Next year, we're ordering from Saipan breeders, versus hatchery. They're harder to find but methinks it will be worth it and the folks on BYC forums have been inordinately helpful on the matter. :)
