One of my baby chicks started limping at about a week old. It holds it's foot way off the ground and balances on one leg. It gets around fine using its wings and it still eats and drinks some. The foot is uninjured although ive noticed the toes not growing out very fast (the chick may not even have all its toes, it has heavily feathered feet and is from a breeder that could have sketchy genetics), maybe thats why but how can I treat this?? I have been treating them for splayed leg and the hobble does nothing to help to the limp, I tried taking it off and the chick continued to limp. Would a splint be a solution?
