I scored a free Hovabator last year. I tried 24 Rhode Island reds this spring had 12 hatch. Then I set 24 French Copper Maran eggs only 8 hatched. That one hurt at $7 a dozen. I have built several homemade incubators and had 100% hatches in them. Nothing below 85%. I had to hand turn the eggs in the homemade bators. The hovabator has an egg turner. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience going from homemade to store bought.
