how to stop a cockerel from over breeding?

One of my young Araucana cockerels at 5 months old has chosen two specific girls the same age as him that he grew up with to mate with constantly daily I’ve now put him in a fenced in area still with the other chickens around him to protect the two that he’s chasing I’ve got 22 girls with only one other older rooster will this problem go away with maturity and should I just keep him in the closed in area till all the girls and him have matured.

Every cockerel is different. In general, they often get calmer as they mature, but that's not a guarantee. At 5 months he's hormonal, new to the game, and has no manners. He will learn, I also would separate him as you have done, so that the girls don't get too beat up.
