Hi tere your roo has a square body type ,very narrow from the back and between the legs very wrong , marans should have a long .wide and chunky body type ,rectangular type
his tail is at the right anglea little longer but that ok not all over the place .
his shoulder are wide that is good .
his back end where the tail meet the back is narrow ,should be wide.
his back is shouter should be flat and long.
his legs are well feathered .
his comb is not bad has some pproblem too , the lobe is a fork type at the top
he has a great head ..
over all hard to breed good chicks from him if you want to breed a pure copper marans .
he need to be matted a great looking and correct hen/ hens to correct his fault .especially the body type
chooks man

He seems to be still quite young, so could still be developing.

But @Chooks man already pointed to the main issues that will not disappear even as fully adult, i.e. the comb fork he is showing will reappear many generations later still and in itself would usually be disqualifying criteria and a reason to not breed him.

For those only interested in dark eggs and healthy chickens, all those evaluation criteria would not matter at all.

How old is he exactly @Ahop ?

After taking a closer look: his middle toes should not show any feathers at all and taking into consideration his body type, his tail type and his rather big but too thin comb I suspect that somewhere in his ancestry there might have been added some other than pure Marans genes.

Thank you so much! It is my first time with marans. This boy came from a BBS pen.
