The pullets have started laying. We’ve gotten 3 eggs in 4 days. The latest one is lighter colored. Yesterday’s dark one is a beauty. The roll away nest boxes are working. And they laid the last 2 in the nest box.

This is Black. She started out all black like Betty but she did develop just a hint of copper under her beak. She's an F1 that Joannie broodied from Aug '22.
She is possibly Betty's daughter, similar body color and egg color or she could be a MMM. (I've read the deep brown hue on her is a possible tell) I might test mate her to confirm at some point if anyone sees anything outstanding about her or just add her to the mixed flock.
Kong was swooning Betty in the second pic... Staring at her while she ate

Wow she does. She had lots more black splotches on her if I remember correctly..Very pretty and unique still, tho. Have you hatched any babies from her yet?

I wish I knew, that's the hassle with flock housing, she's got 17 neighbors. She is also about as flighty as a wild bird, so I don't catch her on the nest often. Once we get a smaller housing units built I could isolate her and see. I am hatching, but they decided to go on break starting about a week ago.a few started molting!
