Hi all I have 13 five week old chicks, I think I have 6 pullets and 7 cockerells. I'm going to keep one of my roosters for breeding. I have 9 older hens and one peahen living together, when should I introduce the pullets and cockerell to my older hens? I'm going to try sell the other roosters or make a rooster flock.

Start now.* Start with a see but no touch period of 1-2 weeks, dependent on how your older birds react, then take advantage of the small size and quickness of the chicks to set up chick size escape hatches and clutter to provide safety for the younger group in the run area.

This is how I set up for early integration (second half of article): https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/short-on-time-recycle-a-prefab-brooder.73985/

* Caveat: I have no experience with peafowl so I don't know if there's any sort of aggression issues with peafowl and adding newer, younger birds.

This is my buff orpington any guesses now she/he is 6 weeks old
