Where is the incubator? Why not lower the temp in it and use it?

Why does it need to be separated?
The incubator is the heat source for the others..
It's partially open and the chicks just go in and out if they need heat
It seems to work ok and it has worked for other hatches I've done

The chick is twice the size of the others as it hatched early and it keeps pecking at the others and stomping on them. It's already injured another chicks leg.
If I try putting it in a cup it just jumps straight out.

I would never use a heat lamp bulb. I only use regular light bulbs. Heat lamp bulbs get waaayyy too hot.
I agree. I asked a pet shop worker about it in person and she had me buy a $40 reptile bulb that burns straight through everything

I'm going to return it. I still have the receipt and the box
Return what? The light bulb or the lamp?
If you have a clip lamp which I'm guessing is what most people buy when they buy a heat lamp just put a regular light bulb in it.

I'm using a regular light bulb right now in a little clippy lamp and it gets plenty hot enough. I promise you.

For the future, remember that just because somebody works at a pet store or any store for that matter does not mean they know anything about what they sell.
