Letting Guineas Raise Their Young

Mine seem to like chasing the chickens and pulling out feathers if they can... And the father chased off the cat when it came too close to the keets. They are fierce! They fly out of the enclosure and go for walks without a problem. They see predator immediately and fly away. Although one of them was taken by a dog (I think) this summer. Since then, the others seem to be more careful. I don't know why people say they are stupid, they seem very clever birds to me.

When I got them, people started giving me all sorts of dire warning: they will fly off, they will get killed, they will never hatch their own eggs succesfully, they are bad mothers... all untrue so far! Lost many more chickens and ducks to predators - only one guinea so far and they are never ever sick. I think they are great!
