Does anyone use limestone bedding in their chicken coop? what are the benefits you've seen? Smell? egg production?

Since chickens roost they don'need bedding. My roosts are above a plywood floor with 2pcs of mobile home skirting underneath the roosts with some hay scattered about on the floor and skirting. It is cleaned once a month by folding the skirting, removing and dumping in a wheelbarrow that is parked at the door, and the floor swept with a broom...takes about 5 mins tops, replace the skirting and sprinkle some fresh hay around....works like a champ. Using any type of rock material would be very difficult to clean properly and disinfect all those crevices, plus when ya change it out it would be a heavy job. I don't think it would have any effect on egg laying at all, and limestone has sharp edges which could cause a foot injury and the poop would be like cement and adhere the rocks together....leaving the wonderful job of washing, rinsing, and drying before it could be replaced inside....unnecessary work, time, and energy spent, imho....:)

Hmmmm...kind of like sand?
Knowing your location and more about your flock and coop would help.
Pics of coop and this limestone would help even more.
