Here's my broody bringing her week old babies outside for the first time

Aw, very sweet!! :love

Here's 3 of my March babies. I bought 3 bourbon red turkeys last week to keep Georgie company when they get older. Right now they are way bigger than her and they are supposed to be about a week older than her, according to the person I bought them from. The silkie is a week old, Georgie is just over 2 weeks old, and the bourbon red is around 3 weeks old. Georgie was curious and would not sit still.

So glad little Georgie has some "soon to be" buddies!! Love the pics!

Georgie has 2 chick buddies living with her right now, but I've heard it's not good to keep chickens with turkeys for too long. I was going to combine them all, until I realized how huge the bourbon reds were compared to them. :p So they are in cages next to each other, acclimating to each other.

Very good idea!

39 Bourbon Red turkey eggs in lockdown. Hope I get a lot of birds. They are so much better as chicks than chickens. They are so much more curious and playful. Chicken chicks are fun, but I believe turkey poults are better.

I hatched ducklings a little over 2 years ago. Got 4 turkey eggs with them, and only 1 hatched. A blue slate hen. Well the ducklings were mean to her, so I went to the feed store and bought 2 golden comet chicks. They all lived together (eventually adding in bantam cochins and silkies too) until I finally sold the turkey hen, because I figured she was lonely without her kind. I miss her bunches. She was queen of the coop! :)

Any action yet? :fl

That's adorable!!  I had 2 of the RIR chicks hop on top of one of my silkie moms, but I didn't have the camera handy....They definitely didn't have such a roomy back to ride on though!!  That is one fluffy mom!!!

She is!! And that's one of the bigger chicks. 6 of the other 7 are super tiny!
