Chickhawk
Chirping
Thought some of you might find it interesting to see how adaptable chickens really are. This winter was kind of a slow start here. Snow and cold came in later than usual. I had my chickens able to use the uncovered run until almost well until mid-december. However, once the snow started, it has been relentless. Just yesterday, we got another 10-15 cm (4-6 in) of snow. Have a look at what the covered run and coop look like now.
And inside the igloo which the snow completely covers both sides.
They don't seem to bother as much as me with snow, they kept laying all winter, between 5-9 eggs per day.
After shoveling access to the run and coop.
