Mites and lice

I’ve never had anything like this in 3 years or having chickens but my coop is infested with mites and I also discovered when washing every one of my 23 chickens today that they have lice. One in particular has a lice infestation the others not so bad. The mites aren’t bad on them either but they are still there after washing with dawn and chicken rx.

What I am doing now: removing all old bedding. Scrubbing coop with dawn. Dousing in white vinegar any pile of mites I find. Spraying with some orange oil insecticide. Spraying the birds with a clove oil mix insecticide. Rubbing the whole coop down with wet lime and pouring it dry all over the run.

I don’t want this to get worse. We spend a lot of time with our chickens, my kids especially, and I need this fixed asap.

Only 2 are laying age the rest are older chicks.

ivermect works well too. do they have areas where they can dust bathe? bird mites/lice also cant survive on humans so thats a bit of a plus
