My mallard hatched three ducklings in April. Last summer we rescued a Black Swedish Duckling and added it to our small female flock. It ended up being a drake and he was over breeding and was aggressive with my Mallard. So I got her a mallard friend but she wasn't too friendly with the new duck. So once she started laying in February I let my drake breed her once daily then separated them again. The first week of March I started to replace her eggs with wooden eggs daily until she went broody. I then gave her back one of her eggs and hoped for 2 ducklings... I got 3. One jumped out of the nest and stuck its beak through the small gauge hardware wire separating them from the rest of the ducks and one of the large ducks bit off the tip of the beak on the first day. It has healed beautifully and now my Mallard is happy with her babies and has even accepted the other mallard. So now I have 2 happy flocks. The babies are only 45 days old now. I will post adult pictures later.

Here are some of my mixed breed ducks. The black and white is the Cayuga momma. The grey ones are Cayuga/Buffs, the darker tan I believe are Buff/Khakis which all turned out to be drakes. I’m not sure about the dark brown and the grayish tan ones. Any thoughts? Please help me identify my girls!

In the back is Chocolate, Daisy (momma), Speckles, and Universe. I think they’re all a Cayuga mix with either Buff or Welsh Harlequin, but I did sneak some KC eggs under Daisy, so they could be WH/KC or Buff/KC as well. My theory is that chocolate is a Cayuga/WH because she has very dark brown feathers with shiny speculum, and Speckles and Universe (Cookies and Cream) are Cayuga/Buff that have tan/grey feathers with brown spots on them. Does anyone know? Any theories out there? You can see their Buff friends in the pictures as well :)

The chocolate one is what my khaki Campbell/Cayuga mixes look like. That would be my guess.

I figured this was the best thread to ask on. Any clue what these baby barnyard mixes are? The dad is Cayuga/ Khaki, and the moms could be Khaki, WH, or a Black Swedish mix. I know these pics aren’t the best.
