I live outside of Edmonton in Alberta Canada. It's beggining to get cooler and our chickens seem to be loosing feathers. Any thoughts on if this is a normal time to molt?

and yes it is. Mine are just finishing their molt. Egg production was way down for awhile but now is picking back up.

I have a couple who have been moulting for awhile and a couple that just started moulting. Everything I have read says the fall is a "normal" time for them to moult.

Most people tend to get spring chickens that begin laying in the fall. Since chickens tend to moult around the anniversary of their first egg laying that means fall/early winter are primary times for this to happen. May be more due to age than time of year.
