Here are a few pictures of my current coop. I built this using a free kids playscape from craigslist and salvaged plywood. Footprint is 4.5ft x 9ft. I hope this helps someone who is lookin for different ideas for their next coop. I designed it with easy cleanup and happy chickens in mind.

The poop tray is a 45gal cement mixing tray with a flip up door on the side for removal and cleanout. The nestbox is from bestnestbox. The plastic flap in front swings up/down, just lower then roost bar height, for rare wintertime winds from that direction. The floor under the poop tray is wire to allow for additional air exchange. I added the chicken wire under the roost bar because one of the ladies was laying on roost and I was loosing her eggs.

This coop has served me and 7 hens well so far. Hygrometer indicates the same humidity level at roost bar as they are outdoors.

Including the nestbox, hardware, gate and roofing I built this for under $500 usd. I am not a carpenter but it is solid. I plan on installing gutters and painting siding this spring.

Welcome to BYC!

That's an interesting coop. I've never heard of a Tolman house and would like to find out more about them.
The Tolman house style is referenced in Prince Woods "Modern Fresh Air Poultry Houses" Chapter II. There are several other pictures contained in the Chapter but essentially the design is a rectangular shed with one of the narrow ends left open.
