Working on my first coop build. We currently have chickens, but they are living in 2 separate store bought small coops. We are hoping to add some more to our flock, and cut down the number of coops we have to clean and deal with to only one.

I bought the lumber and roof to make the decking, and the frame and I am using free pallets for the siding and egg boxes, when I get the siding on.

So far, this has been a really fun project and I am enjoying it. I can’t wait to see what it looks like completed, painted and occupied!

It looks great so far. I did the same thing- the pre-mades just don't cut it.

Great job! So glad you for some scrap lumber too. You'll have it filled up in no time and looks like lots of helpers. 👍 Keep sending pics as you go can't wait to see finished coop. What type bedding are you using?

Looks like you have a good plan going into the build. Can’t wait to see move in day.
We bought a couple Rural King coops for new chicks, the Ladies prefer to lay in them rather than the boxes that they were laying in. Our coops are constantly being added on to in order to accommodate the Tween chickens and make room for more chicks in the store bought coops.
