Anyone know what animal kills chicks about 2-3am and leaves broody hens alone but kills only the chicks by ripping the heads off? There are lots of feathers but from the broody hens but they took no real damage, only the chicks as they are decapitated with chick head outside the coop with the bodies gone.. Coons?

I don't think so.

Doesn't look like it in the photos. I'll have to check more thoroughly tonight.

I believe THIS is the father. If not it is a Silkie.. But it has the beginning of the colouring from my frizzle... Who is not Fm. How does that gene work? Can he pass it on if his mother was a Silkie, but didn't pass on the dark skin to him?

I'm not sure exactly how the Fm gene works. Sometimes, for sure, birds that don't show Fm can pass it to their offspring and the offspring will show Fm.
