We're in South Dakota. It'd be stored in the garage during the winter, and the shed in the summer. It's only a double garage, so not a ton of storage space (which I realize in some parts of the country that sounds ridiculous).I'd flip it vertically so door is on other side from pop door.... but.....
....Ahhh, if you have a mower and thrower to store your original design would definitely work better.....
...and with only 5 birds it'll probably be fine at the 44 or 48 or as far as you can move it over.
Not sure how a ladder roost will fit in there...4' is just tight.
But that's a long ways to go get the thrower...where are you located.
Do you suppose I could reduce nesting boxes from three to two, elongating a space for roosts, and just do two longer roosts in the same space? They'd be about 3' long, so 6' total. Or we could actually turn the nesting boxes, I suppose. We just would have to actually go into the coop to collect eggs, which is how we do it now anyways. But that would give us more space to play with in regards to the roosts.
